Rashida Reviews: “Tell Ya Friends” – Chip Tha Ripper

Posted: March 5, 2012 by reallyrashida in Uncategorized

Chip Tha Ripper’s latest mixtape “Tell Ya Friends” has over 100,000 downloads. Those are impressive numbers for an independent artist from the streets of Ohio. Chip has been doing his thing and making us proud for years now with his classic mixtapes. Each of his projects outweighs its previous release and he is now nationally known and respected among rap’s elite. “Tell Ya Friends” is a blend of street knowledge, humor, and soul with collabs from the likes of Bun B, Wale, and Ray Cash. It also boasts production from Lex Luger, Hi Tek, and Chuck Inglish. Pocket Full features Key Wane singing a smooth hook and has a hypnotizing melody. It reminds me of a night in VIP at an upscale venue. That track is by far my favorite.

He made sure to rep Cleveland and Ohio as a whole with appearances by Hi Tek, Ray Cash, Kid Cudi, and Krayzie Bone. I will always respect those who are all about doing what’s best for the state and never forgetting where they come from. I give Chip five stars on “Tell Ya Friends”. Take a listen and tell me what you think.
